Art is supposed to hang on walls in bright, museum spaces where viewers maintain a respectful distance, hands clasped behind their backs. These are the conventions.  

But in an art installation last semester, eighth grade students broke those rules.

Following a beautiful performance of The Sound of Music by The Saint Constantine School, VP for Communications, Rebecca Rautio, reflects on the power of community and the lessons we're taught when we practice it well.

Did my students just want to check off another item on their school to-do list? Or was there something deeper going on that my adult brain could not slow down enough to see? I came across the answer a few weeks ago.

There is something radically strange about Proba’s epic poem the Cento De Laudibus Christi by Faltonia Proba... something I'm finding that resonates with the nature of education as we pursue it here at Saint Constantine.

I am grateful for the enormous investment of faithful care from educators at The Saint Constantine School. Yours is assuredly the greatest kind of impact—that which sharpens minds to discern wisdom and emboldens hearts to trust and carry goodness.

Our lives are filled with big tasks that require hard work. Education must cultivate in students an openness to effort, helping them assess the risk, struggle towards knowledge, and ultimately reap the benefit of hard work.

How should a Christian feel about the continuous ambiguity of history? Is history a vain round in which progress is always neutralized by evil?

Whoever is not currently in the middle of the action of a drama is generally considered the audience, but if the whole world is a stage, then that means that actors are only pausing temporarily to watch each other. Who, then, is the audience to the world’s drama?  

If we promote information merely for its own sake, or for the inflation of our egos, the experience is like wandering through a desert rather than an abundant Life in the garden.

We hope to develop our students into true mathematicians, not biological calculators. Math and science activities at TSCS help us achieve our mission to cultivate wisdom, virtue, and joy and to build a community of eager, life-long learners.
